Contractors in large developments will build the same house many times. Once a designer does a takeoff and creates a house package, it can be stored in a template with the name of the house plan. This will allow the contractor to order the same house package for each identical house, but have many house templates on file.
The template is in effect a reuseable quotation. It will contain a list of all fixtures, each defined with room names, bulbs to use and will be priced as originally agreed upon. The builders allowance will be stored on the template.
When a builder orders a new house package, you can bring up the correct template file and copy it into a new work order. Items that are not in stock will prompt the user and ask if those items should be special ordered.
At this point, you can create shipping labels for the items in stock. The labels can include the builder name, job address, fixture number and description and bulbs required. You can then set these items aside in the warehouse in anticipation of shipping. Note that each order can be marked with a ship date. |
